Finally...the Ford Fiesta ST is coming!

It's about time!! The hot new Fiesta is on the horizon...

MANY will be getting excited about the all-new Fiesta ST - Ford fans in particular. It's been long overdue, when the Blue Oval unveiled it at this year's Geneva motor show.

The hot new Fiesta has had styling tweaks to distinguish it from standard models. The most notable feature is the Fiesta sporting the trapezoidal grille seen on the new Focus ST. Ford have tarted it up with a more aggressive bodykit and spoilers and removed the washer jets from the bonnet. Inside, the Fiesta ST has body hugging Recaro sports seats.

Of course, the changes aren't just cosmetic. The Fiesta ST sits 15mm lower than the standard Fiesta. Unlike its predecessor powered by a 2.0 litre normally aspirated engine. The new ST is powered by a smaller engine. Don't worry, because the 1.6 litre turbocharged Ecoboost engine pumps out 178bhp - that's around 30 horses more than the old ST.

To add spices to the curry, the current Fiesta is a lighter car than the previous model. Ford claims the new ST will get to 60mph in under 7 seconds - which is at least a second quicker than its forebear - and will go all the way to 136mph. That's one sizzling pocket rocket.

Ford are putting the new Fiesta ST into production and is expected to be on sale sometime next year in the UK.
